Setting Up Email on Your Faciotech Hosting
This comprehensive guide walks you through setting up email from scratch on your Faciotech hosting account, including creating mailboxes, configuring email clients, and ensuring deliverability.
Step 1: Create an Email Account in cPanel
- Log into your Client Area and access cPanel
- Under Email, click Email Accounts
- Click Create
- Enter your desired username (the part before @yourdomain.com)
- Set a strong password or use the generator
- Set mailbox quota (or leave as unlimited)
- Click Create
Step 2: Configure DNS Records
For optimal deliverability, ensure these DNS records are configured:
MX Records
Your MX records should point to your hosting server. Check in cPanel → Zone Editor that MX records exist.
SPF Record
Add a TXT record with your SPF policy. A basic SPF record:
v=spf1 +a +mx +ip4:YOUR_SERVER_IP ~all
DKIM Record
Enable DKIM in cPanel → Email → Email Deliverability. Click "Manage" and install the suggested records.
Step 3: Access Your Email
Webmail (Browser)
- Go to
yourdomain.com/webmailorwebmail.yourdomain.com - Enter your full email address and password
- Choose your webmail client (Roundcube recommended)
Email Client (Outlook, Apple Mail, etc.)
Use these settings:
| Setting | Incoming (IMAP) | Outgoing (SMTP) |
|---|---|---|
| Server | mail.yourdomain.com | mail.yourdomain.com |
| Port | 993 (SSL) or 143 (TLS) | 465 (SSL) or 587 (TLS) |
| Security | SSL/TLS | SSL/TLS |
| Username | Full email address | Full email address |
| Password | Email password | Email password |
Mobile Devices
Use the same settings above. Most devices auto-detect when you enter your email and password.
Step 4: Test Your Setup
- Send a test email to an external address (Gmail, etc.)
- Reply to that email to test incoming mail
- Check for emails in spam folder
- Use mail-tester.com to check deliverability score
Common Setup Issues
- Can't send email - Check SMTP settings and authentication
- Can't receive email - Verify MX records are correct
- Emails going to spam - Configure SPF, DKIM, and DMARC
- Authentication failed - Use full email address as username
